Idaho had the 10th lowest foreclosure rate in June, with no new foreclosures starts, according to a new report from real estate data company RealtyTrac. Moving into the bottom 10 signals a dramatic shift for the state as Idaho was in the top 10 as recently as 2011. Idaho’s foreclosure rate is down 77 percent from June 2012.
Just 187 housing units was in the foreclosure process in June, which is one out of every 3,539 housing unites in the state. The national foreclosure rate was more than triple Idaho’s rate.
For the first months of 2013, Idaho ranked 31st in the nation, with foreclosure filings down 46 percent from the same time period in 2012. Across the nation, Florida, Nevada and Illinois had the highest foreclosure rates from January to June, while North Dakota, Montana and Mississippi had the lowest foreclosure rates.
