Scout O’Gara has an enthusiasm for her real estate business that is contagious. Her passion for helping her clients is grounding, and she focuses on helping each client make educated decisions as they navigate their real estate journey. She and her husband moved Boise in 1995 and have made Eagle home since 2000. A graduate of Fresno State with dual degrees in International Marketing and Enology (the scientific study of wine making), she’s earned the reputation of being one of the Treasure Valley’s most knowledgeable, trusted and respected Realtors.
Scout’s early experience in the Boise-area real estate market helped her develop a lot of the perspective that makes her a great Realtor today. Working in escrow at First American Title she gained an in-depth knowledge about how to navigate the technical aspects of land ownership and how to help her clients protect their real estate investments through the selection of excellent title insurance. Scout further expanded her industry knowledge by working in commercial real estate with Colliers International. Though the depth of detail required and the extensive attention to the legal aspects of commercial contracts intrigued and motivated Scout, she found something was lacking. Commercial real estate is all business, and she craved the personal connection that comes about in helping clients find a home, or move on from home to continue their journey. She made a firm decision to dive into residential real estate and has never looked back. Scout redirected and focused her energies solely on residential real estate, working initially with Group One Sotheby’s Real Estate.
At Ralston Group, Scout specializes in helping clients buy and sell homes in Eagle, Boise and Meridian. She has continued her real estate education, earning the Graduate REALTOR Institute (GRI) designation. A perfect fit for the ethos of Ralston Group, she’s invested in and passionate about each of her clients’ successes. In short, it’s not just “another transaction” with Scout, but personal and deeply meaningful. As someone who moved often growing up in a military family, her life experience has given her genuine empathy for the stressors of buying and selling a home. Above all, she understand the difference between a house and creating a home. Clients universally use words like “knowledgeable”, “kind”, “patient”, “helpful”, “safe” and “stress-free” when describing their experience with Scout. Scout enjoys a 100% referral-based business.
Scout is actively engaged in contributing to our community. She’s served at PTA and PTO President at Seven Oaks Elementary School and at Eagle Middle School, as well as having served on the board of the West Ada Education Foundation. Scout co-founded the local chapter of Ride for Joy, a therapeutic equine assisted program for children with disabilities as well as veterans and active duty service members seeking to improve their physical, mental and emotional wellbeing. She has also volunteered in organizing the Dress for Success annual Tea Party, a fundraiser to support Dress for Success’s program promoting independence for economically disadvantaged women.
As passionate about life as she is helping clients realize there real estate goals, she and her family love living the Boise lifestyle. Free time finds her hiking in our foothills or golfing one of our many beautiful golf courses, relishing a great meal at one of the Valley’s great restaurants, or reading a good book. Scout and her family enjoy traveling, and she speaks fluent Spanish.
